Our school receives additional funding called pupil premium, this is used to support children in school.  The information below explains how our children are supported and the impact the support has had.

School allocation of funding for 2015-2016 is £8353.00

At Petteril Bank School we aim to use our additional sports funding to :

  • Provide high quality coaches to teach the children and develop teacher’s skills in school.
  • Provide a range of after school clubs that develop physical fitness.
  • Provide outdoor and adventurous activities to all children in Key Stage 2.
  • Extend the amount of competitive sport children are able to take part in, by increasing the number of types of competitive sport and the number of children accessing competitive sport.
  • To provide transport so children are not disadvantaged if parents cannot provide transport.
  • Provide swimming lessons in smaller groups to children in Key Stage 2.

Coaches for RRCA providing targeted support within Key stage 1 and 2 as part of the outreach programme

Children access high quality sports coaching to enhance learning in physical education.
Range of activities enhanced.

Enhanced CPD opportunities for staff to develop confidence in teaching a range of P.E activities.

Outdoor and adventurous activities to all children in Key Stage 2 – a day for each child not attending the residential at Waterpark.

All the children have high quality outdoor, adventurous activities, developing team building skills and confidence

Transport to sporting events to enable more children to take part

Children able to be taken to competitive sports events

More competitive sports children are able to take part competitive sports with other schools through the cluster groups – enabling staff to be released to organise events.

Children take part in gymnastics, rounders, netball , football, rock climbing, cross country running competitions.
Increased numbers of children have taken part in competitive sports

  • Provide a wider range of after school clubs that develop physical fitness.
  • To enhance the sports equipment in school for use during lessons and playtimes.
  • Provide outdoor and adventurous activities to all children in Key Stage 2.
  • Extend the amount of competitive sport children are able to take part in, by increasing the number of types of competitive sport and the number of children accessing competitive sport.  To ensure transport is provided so all children are able to attend.
  • Provide swimming lessons in smaller groups to children in Key Stage 2.
  • Provide a healthy sports programme to develop children’s understanding.
  • Provide high quality coaches to teach the children and develop teacher’s skills in school.
